Dear Friends in sport,
Dear Beach Handball enthusiasts!

On behalf of the European Handball Federation and the Beach Handball Commission, I heartily welcome you to 10th edition of the Men’s and Women’ 17 EHF Beach Handball EURO and the 11th edition of the Men’s and Women’s EHF Beach Handball EURO.

For the latest instalment of beach handball action, we return to a country steeped in a rich history that celebrated its handball centennial on 26 October 2018, and to the small village of Stare Jabłonki located in the North-Eastern part of the country. Having hosted the finals of the men’s and women’s European beach tour in 2018 Stare Jabłonki has been making a name for itself when it comes to this popular sport, as now in 2019, it will host the beach handball EUROs for the very first time!

The younger age category competitions remain as great source of pride for the European Handball Federation as yet another opportunity presents itself for these young men and women to develop and gain experience on the international stage. The German men’s and the Hungarian women’s teams will return to defend the title won by their M18 counterparts in 2017 in Montenegro from the 27 – 30 June 2019. Over three days, 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams will compete for sought-after championship titles.

Once the M/W17 event concludes, it will be time for the top players to hit the beach located on Lake Szelag Maly in a place that has been described as one of the most attractive places on Earth. Returning from their 2017 win in Croatia, the national teams of Spain (men) and Norway (women) are also back to defend their titles from 2 – 7 July 2019. A total of 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams aim to have the crowds hot with beach handball fever of the five days of pure action.

As this village becomes the heart of the 2019 beach handball summer, we look forward to welcoming the national team delegations, as well as the army of fans in tow to support their players. We wish all the teams participating in both events an unforgettable experience in Stare Jabłonki.

In the spirit of Fair Play, may the best teams win!

Sporting regards,

Michael Wiederer
EHF President
